September 30, 2015 – AGI continues to increase presence in West Virginia.  AGI has been supporting construction requirements for a remote Navy facility located in West Virginia.  Unfortunately the facility, established in the early 1960’s, was selected for decommissioning.  AGI was selected and awarded a contract to perform an overall facility assessment to determine the closing requirements.  The recommended requirements include winterization, decommissioning, and overall “mothballing” of the base.  AGI will now perform the caretaker services for the installation until a future tenant/use can be determined.  Continued work will include security, water treatment plant maintenance, and facility maintenance, among other duties. 

September 28, 2015 – AGI selected to perform life safety upgrades at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth (NMCP), Portsmouth, Virginia.  AGI has been awarded a contract to perform life safety upgrades to the OB-GYN Clinic at NMCP.  Primary work involves the upgrading of an interior wall partition to meet current NFPA standards for fire separation.  Work includes roofing, replacement of interior doors, light gauge framing, gypsum board, interior finishes, graphics, HVAC requirements, security system access, electrical, and fire detection/alarm.  All work will be performed during non-working hours to ensure the daily operations of the facility are not affected.  AGI has performed over 12 successful projects at NMCP and appreciate the continued work with the facility.

September 24, 2015 – AGI wins contract in support of the U.S. Naval Academy.  AGI is pleased to announce the awarding of our first project at the prestigious United States Naval Academy.  The project, located at the Naval Academy Club, involves renovation and upgrades to the HVAC system, minor interior finishes, DDC controls integration, electrical repairs, and associated project requirements.  Due to the need to minimize disruption to the Academy, the work will be performed during the winter break.  The comprehensive work will be compressed into a four week period and require multiple shifts, weekends, and holiday work.  AGI will utilize key mechanical, electrical, and controls contractors who have been pre-qualified due to their past performance, safety programs, and familiarity with the U.S. Naval Academy. 

September 23, 2015 – Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC), Bethesda, MD selects AGI for Pediatric Pharmacy Renovation.  AGI has been awarded a Design/Build construction contract for the renovation of the Pediatric Pharmacy at the WRNMMC.  Work shall include various interior upgrades to include all ICRA infection control standards.  Scope involves interior demolition, framing, security windows, finishes upgrades, HVAC, electrical, fire suppression, intrusion detection, and other elements associated with the facility.  The 2-1/2 month on-site construction requirements are anticipated to start in early spring with completion in March 2016.

September 22, 2015 – AGI awarded White House Communications Agency interior renovation upgrades.  An interior renovation project has been awarded to Asturian Group in support of the White House Communications Agency (WHCA).  The WHCA is responsible for providing information services and communications support for the president and staff.  This highly prestigious project will involve various interior finishes upgrades to include carpet, vinyl composition tile, and epoxy flooring systems, concrete sealing, and interior/exterior painting requirements.  In addition, the exterior fencing will be painted.  AGI looks forward the opportunity to work with the end user and client to ensure the active operational needs of the facility are not interrupted during the project execution.  The project will be completed by January 2016.

September 15, 2015 – Quantico Marine Corps Base, Quantico, Virginia awards Runway Indicator Lighting project to Asturian Group.  Asturian Group has been selected to perform the replacement of the runway indicator lights located at an airfield.  The lighting will be upgraded to energy efficient LED lighting to meet the NAVFAC Sustainability and Energy requirements.  The lighting upgrades will improve approach visibility and energy savings.  Asturian has been performing construction requirements for MCB Quantico for 3 years and currently holds a Job Order Contract with the installation.

September 14, 2015 – AGI awarded interior renovation project in support of United States Coast Guard, Alexandria, Virginia.  AGI was awarded an interior renovation at the Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Information Technology Service Center (TISCOM). The project includes complete interior demolition, structural modifications, security upgrades, HVAC/Electrical improvements, Intrusion Detection, Life Safety/Fire Alarm upgrades, interior finishes, telecommunications infrastructure, and overall improvements to the tenant spaces.  Work will be accomplished with in-house tradesmen and key Subcontractors.  Project will be completed in early spring 2016.

August 21, 2015 – AGI awarded Pier Rehabilitation at Statue of Liberty National Monument, NY.  The National Park Service awarded AGI a pier rehabilitation project located in Manhattan, NY.  The Marine Inspection Office (MIO) pier, located adjacent to the Pier A Harbor House, is utilized by the park service in support of Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island operations.  The project involves the repair and replacement of fendering systems, pier infrastructure, and access requirements.  Work will commence in the fall of 2015 and will be completed within one month due to the immediate needs of the Park.
