CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT

OVERVIEW

Asturian has successfully completed projects as “At-Risk” and “CM Agency” parties. In both cases, our goal is to assist the owner by assuming a leadership role to oversee the project’s design, preconstruction, and construction efforts.

In some instances, Asturian hires the design team and utilizes the Design-Build construction methods. Alternatively, we may be responsible for hiring both the design team and the general contracting organization, acting as the representing party on behalf of the owner. In other cases, we assist solely in the hire of subcontractors, suppliers, and other vendors necessary to accomplish the project.

Regardless of delivery system, we implement each of the following elements to ensure the success of the project and the satisfaction of the owner.

Communication:

A strong and thorough communication plan is implemented from the beginning. The strategic plan outlines the necessary aspects of communication in order to establish a smooth information flow during the execution of the project.

Scope documentation:

A comprehensive analysis of detailing each step of the preconstruction process to include the means/methods, gap analysis and other key elements of the project is documented.

Work Breakdown Structure (WBS):

This document clarifies the scope of the whole project in a straightforward and understandable manner.

Risk management planning:

This plan documents any foreseeable threats to the timely and successful completion of the project. This document serves as a powerful tool to aid in the planning and resource management for all project teams to prevent the jeopardization of the project in any way.

Progress:

In the most important role of Construction Management, the project team continually ensures that the project is progressing according to projections and schedule. Meetings are held on a regular basis to communicate progression during every aspect of the construction process.

Scheduling:

Asturian’s project team is dedicated to supervising the project and adjusting its schedule according to any changes or issues that have emerged. This ensures that the construction management team maintains control over each step of the construction process, mitigating risks and making changes as appropriate.

Closure:

This stage represents the completion and delivery of the project. The CM team examines whether the project has met its initial objectives and whether the initial budget estimations were successful.
