Artifical Turf systems provide many athletic sports complexes a naturally looking surface, while reducing the operating cost of turf management. A down side, however, is the permanent surface material may mask underlying substrate failure due to erosion. Asturian was responsible for the investigation and repair of major subsurface erosion below an artificial turf system located at an athletic stadium. The scope of work required investigation into subsurface utility structures to identify the cause of the undermining of the turf system. Asturian identified the problems, removed the turf system at the impacted areas, performed the sub-grade and utility repairs, and restored the turf system to the original condition.
